After weeks of speculation, Richard Sanchez will finally leave Club America to join Racing Club in Argentine football. The deal was reportedly closed for $3 million, and the midfielder will sign a contract until December 2028 with his new club.

Sánchez was a key player in América’s three consecutive titles, as he scored against Cruz Azul in the semifinals and later against Rayados in the Apertura 2024 Final. With , he also found the net in the Apertura 2019 Final and the Apertura 2023 Final. The Paraguayan leaves the club with three Liga MX titles, one Campeón de Campeones, one Liga MX Super Cup, and one Campeones Cup.

América did not make any signings for the Clausura 2025, so Sánchez's departure leaves them with an extra foreigner spot that will not be used.
