Slot reportedly held a 'secret meeting' with Wirtz in a bid to convince him to make the switch to Anfield. Yet the Germany international may not have needed much convincing. Rudi Voller, the German Football Association's sporting director, says Wirtz dropped a big hint over his next move some time ago.
WHAT VOLLER SAID
Voller told Toni Kroos' podcast 'Einfach Mal Luppen': "A few months ago, he hinted to me, as did his father, that he was inclined to go to Liverpool."
