Freese needs no introduction. The star goalkeeper shined during the 2024 MLS season, finishing as one of the league’s best. His All-Star snub frustrated fans, but the 26-year-old didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he helped lead New York City FC to the Eastern Conference semifinals, earning praise from both supporters and critics.

His standout performances also earned him a first USMNT call-up in January, though he remained behind Matt Turner and Patrick Schulte in the pecking order. Back with NYCFC, Freese returned to action in a preseason clash against Sporting Kansas City.
