PSG named Men's Club of the Year as Arsenal win women's accolade after both teams claim Champions League titles

Paris Saint-Germain have been ranked as the Men's Club of the Year at the 2025 Ballon d'Or gala after Les Parisiens won a historic quadruple led by Luis Enrique. Arsenal were named the Women's Club of the Year after their massive Women's Champions League campaign last season under Renee Slegers, becoming the first side to dethrone Barcelona from the pedestal.

Paris Saint-Germain were handed the Men's Club of the Year after Enrique led his side to their first-ever Champions League trophy after a spectacular thrashing of Inter Milan in the final. Les Parisiens also managed to win their 13th Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France and the Trophee des Champions.

Arsenal managed to become the first English side to win the Women's Champions League last season after beating two-time defending champions, Barcelona, in a 1-0 win at Lisbon's Estadio Jose Alvalade. The Gunners also ended up second in the Women's Super League, with only Chelsea boasting a superior domestic record.

Previous Club of the Year winner

The Men's Club of the Year award initially started to be awarded back in 2021 when Chelsea won the title for the incredible Champions League win. The second and the third editions were both awarded to Manchester City for their historic domestic treble and the European treble, respectively. Last year's award was handed to Real Madrid for winning La Liga and the Champions League, and Paris Saint-Germain have now become the fourth club to win the accolade.

The Women's Club of the Year award was an idea that was first actualised for the 2023 edition of the Ballon d'Or, where Barcelona won the title for the record-breaking European treble season, and the Catalan side were able to hold on to the trophy again in 2024 after their Liga F and Women's Champions League rampage.

PSG and Arsenal looking to emulate 2024/25 success

Paris Saint-Germain have already begun their four-title defence in style as they led the Ligue 1 standings coming into the Ballon d'Or gala, and they also started their Champions League league stage campaign with a 4-0 hammering of Atalanta. Arsenal are looking to do one better this season by also challenging for the WSL title and are currently placed third on the table. The Gunners will begin their UWCL title defence when they host the record-holders, Lyon, at Meadow Park next month.
